The Gateway Hotel is 25 | A walk down memory lane

The Gateway Hotel has seen generations change in front of its eyes. It was a privilege to have been invited to celebrate this momentous occasion with cuisine which truly represents the vibe of the hotel and the city! All roads led to Chef’s table where we all raised a toast to the 25 years

Bloggers were greeted by Chef Naren Thimmaiah has been the face of the Iconic Karavalli for over two decades, adjudged as the BEST CHEF OF INDIA, at the Government of India, National Tourism awards held on 24th February 2009, was indeed a privilege!


 The Gateway Hotel, a part of the Taj Group of Hotels on Residency Road in Bangalore completes 25 years. The hotel was brought under brand Gateway in 2008 when Taj Group of Hotels decided to launch a new brand catering to the emerging set of contemporary travellers. 

The sprawling lobby area is illuminated in the centre. Vibrant painting graces the wall behind the front desk. As we arrived we were greeted by the staff at the hotel who were neck-deep in work, for the week is a special one. Exactly 25 years ago The Gateway Hotel came into being. For a hotel that has been around longer than the several landscaped to tell the tale.


































































The Gateway Hotels COO Prabhat S Verma said that as part of the celebrations, Chef Thimmaiah and Albert Rebello, General Manager, have lined up various interactive events that defines Bangalore – food, art, music and movies.

It was certainly a walk down the memory lane by tall standing "Chef Thimmaiahh", who was instrumental to conceptualize the contemporary and chic all day dining GAD the trendy bar, Sphyre at the Gateway Hotel, Bangalore
