Time Travel for a Taste of Mesopotamia!

Who wouldn't want to time travel to the 'Oldest Cuisine' in the world? 

We were invited to try the rustic "Taste of Mesopotamia" ! @ Sheraton  that reflect rich inheritance as well as strong influences from the culinary traditions of regions such as Iraq, Kuwait, parts of Saudi Arabia as well as Turkish-Syrian border. 

The menu for the 'Taste of Mesopotamia' festival is curated by Chef Gopal under the expert guidance of Executive Chef Anthony Huang [ known since his stint at JW Marriott Bengaluru ] who brings in his Dubai/ Arab experience/influence {which is apparently the source of the ingredients and the special dishes curated}

The special Mesopotamia menu will showcase a diverse spread of dishes distinctively featuring a rich blend of spices , while the ambiance of Persian Terrace is truly mesmerizing....

Mezze platter:

 an absolute must as far as appetizer is a perfect marriage of Hummus [Beiruti] and Baytinijan Maqli, an aubergine with Tahini sauce

I being the only vegetarian would have eagerly waited for the 'Subzi Kebab' and asked for more!

My better half was more than thrilled the moment she heard 'kebab platter!' and there was a plethora Jujeh Kebab - grilled chicken, Samkeh Harra - charcoal grilled fish, Kebab-e-robian - grilled prawns and kebab-e-Rastay Gosfand - lamb chops with arabic spices.

Kebabs : A plenty....

I was particularly delighted with the portion of rice with Assyrian Masha [Mesopotamian white bean vegetarian stew]

We signed off with an irresistible ......

Dessert Platter: 

 Baklava, Bamiyeh, Zulbia and dates ice cream

The "Taste of Mesopotamia" festival continues  'Taste of Mesopotamia' festival is on till 18th of this month only during lunch Where: Persian Terrace at Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gateway, Bengaluru.
