Week(never)ends: Best of Eastern Europe

My self-proclaimed adage "My week(never)ends!" I managed to explore the best of Eastern Europe & stunning!!! as I managed to do my penultimate weekend in Germany while on a Work-Business, weekend of Oct 24-26. I got off work, at Remscheid, Germany  to hop on to a Beamer 5 series, a bla-bla ride! from Cologne, started by 6.30 pm 24th Oct Friday, clocking 700 kms (in approx 6 1/2 hrs).Reached youth hostel  (Hostelling International) in the wee hours of the morning .

Prague has been nicknamed the "city of a thousand spires." I managed to do the "must-sees" , after an early breakfast by 7 The Dancing House, Prague's most outstanding modern architectural creation, headed to  famous Charles Bridge over the Vltava River ( considering that it's a weekend & jam-packed), not to miss the spectacular views, of the gothic city, palace & headed to the splendid Jewish Quarter, Old town

I fell in love with Segway, as I explored 50% of Prague on a Segway ... with my first stop at Clementinum, the largest collections of historic buildings in Europe: National Library of the Czech Republic & managed my afternoon, with a stop at Irish Times Bar & Katr restaurant, strolling through fine restaurants and cafes & Trdelník Sweet Pastry spent the later part of afternoon at Home of Czech Republic's President and one of the city's most visited tourist attractions!!!  & bumped into two American Travelers Quothia Wolf Melissa Burdi, who were literally stranded due to the fact that trains to Salzburg, Austria were cancelled & manage to get them appreciate BlaBlaCar, the Airbnb of car share & the next social networking platform! The Evening was spent taking a time travel into beer halls to early 20th century cafes, decided to pick of the best bars in historic settings! "Karlovy Lazane, James Dean, Harleys Bar" & last stop at "The National Museum" before the next bla-bla ride! to Lubeck at 7.00p.m

Lubeck: Well, just realized that it was a night to remember as we had to turn back the clock (may be get an hour more of sleep), all I was saying was DST(Daylight Savings Time) at 2:00 A.M. yet another 700 kms  (in approx 6 1/2 hrs). Just loved the DJH Jugendherberge Lubeck & I must be thankful to the Doctor who dropped me off at the exact coordinates. Just freshen up not to miss Travemunde for a stroll on the historic beach promenade overlooking the huge ferries on the Baltic Sea, immersed in sandy beach & basking in the sun. I had to huddle to the bus stop to get going to famous Holsten Gate & Old Town, which the UNESCO declared a world cultural heritage site, now a landmark. I couldn’t just believe I had reached the home of Marzipan!!!! Phew.... It's called "Niederegger  a.k.a. "marzipan capital" goes back to the 1800's. My next stop (breathless) was at  The St. Anne-Museum with its renowned Memling altar is worthwhile seeing as well as the modern Art Hall St. Anne.

Hamburg: I spent the 2nd half of Sunday making a trip from Lubeck to Hamburg via Bhan(https://www.bahn.de/) . The moment I landed it was "Speicherstadt", the warehouse district is the world's largest single stretch of warehouses & followed by Hamburg Harbor, one of the world's largest working harbors, explored some of the many eating and shopping options on boardwalk. The HafenCity 's Elbphilharmonie Concert Hall, ( Feb 2017), is a towering and wildly beautiful piece of architectures in comparison to Sydney's Opera House, followed by  Miniatur Wunderland experience.  Well, I was completely impressed about the fact that the city has bounced back post World War II.

I did take a Stroll around two delightful lakes Binnenalster & Aussenalster Hamburg’s two delightful lakes.one of Germany’s greenest cities & how can one just leave the city without "Nightlife" of the Reeperbahn otherwise “Sin City” tawdry red-light district? With all of this I was full of energy to head back to my sojourn & this time Audi Q7.

Reached Cologne, by 11:45p.m , to miss my last train to Remscheid, considered to take a nap at Accor hotel, Wuppertal (Intercity hotel) till 4:30 am so that I could take the 1st train at 4:45am to get back to my Hotel  http://hotel-beikelmann.de/ to get back to my Client Vaillant at 8:30 a.m. So don’t you agree my week(never)ends?
