Mast Kalandar : Celebrating the Hero in You

Bloggers were glad to have an invite for "MK’s 50th Store" at Mast Kalandar outlet near NGV!! I'd like to thank Leena Philip on bealf of fellow blogegrs for getting us to meet up on 11th January and looking forward to visit the MK#50 at Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore. to get a first hand feel !!!!

Background

Seven years ago two techies, both from the North of India decided to serve the meal needs or should I say cravings of North Indian immigrants  and thus was born Mast Kalandar.
From its inception Pallavi and Gaurav, the two founders, were very clear that it was going to be an ardous journey – especially because of the fact that they were sticklers to quality of what got served to their consumers –  food had to be devoid of any shortcuts – food had to be made from no-compromise fresh products (veggies and dairy) traditional recipe (daily routine of hand pound masala), no artificial additions, cooked twice a day cycle and the longest leg was to get the ingredient from the source in North India (the hing had to be from Hathras, the shikanji masala from Modinagar ). No it was never going to be a compromise on this.

With this philosophy they looked beyond their first store in Bangalore and today are at a 50 store number across other cities  like Hyderabad , Chennai and Pune as well.

We went to check out this place after hearing a lot about its concept , of course, its food. All in all had a great experience.

The menu largely consists of combo meals with for all appetites and moods. There are light meals consisting phulkas, dal, etc to over-indulgent meals comprising amritsari kulchas and pindi chana. Also available are paratha combos and rice combos.

We were offered to try pindi chana,I can't still get over the chat that was mindblowing!!!

The Rotii's were a great combo is brilliant with a bowl each of dal makhani, chana and raita and little kachumbar salad. Each item tasted amazingly authentic and it was difficult to pick out the favourite. The biryani wasn't the authentic kind but, nevertheless, it tasted good.

The staff and ambiance is nice and the value for money is awesome. With branches mushrooming all over the city,it's not tough to locate one.

And Yes!!! I was Celebrating as well, My Birthday in MK Style!!!!

Stay tuned to Social Media Space, where I share my thoughts & comments on TwitterGoogle+, or Facebook where I always take a moment or two to dabble my thoughts, that are always alive :)
