Japanese Cuisine pairing with Black Dog

To embark on a flavorsome journey with the Steaming Sensation Festival at Shiro. My first impressions, i was awe’d!!! Shiro, this dumpling promotion was presented as part of the ongoing celebrations for the Chinese New Year. Shiro has always tried to bring in new Oriental concepts to its extraordinary culinary repertoire and the latest is yet another delicious offering.
The very dim sum concept has been re-written by expat chefs and we were pretty delighted with varieties of exotic dumplings . Priyank, surprised us by saying there’s a lot in store for vegetarians like-Zucchini & Coriander Root Dumpling,Celery & Pepper Mushroom Dumpling, Spinach& Corn Dumpling Neatly laid out in beautiful bamboo baskets, the “new-age dim sums” are a treat for the eyes as well:) So, much so for meat lovers…..that included Yellow Curry Chicken Dumpling, Prawns wrapped in Chinese cabbage, Steamed Black Bean Pork Ribs.lamb dumplings with wood smoked barbeque sauce


I am an ardent follower of United Spirits, Black Dog available in four variants viz Centenary, Deluxe (12 year), Reserve (18 years) and Luintessence (Aged 21 years). I paired the Steaming sensation with Black Dog Centenary Scotch Whisky!!! Couldn't have got better :)

Tasting Notes

Colour: Amber with golden highlights.
Aroma: Matured wood, toasted malt,mild honey sweetness, delicate butterscotch bordering on cream, with floral nuances that emerges at the end.
Palate: Robust body, pronounced rich malt and oak and sherry sweetness, spreads warmly in the mouth like silent sea waves.
Finish : Balanced, long, intense and bright.
