Among the bloggers who had RSVP'd for the trial session, were Nivedith, Hrish Thota, Rajsekhar and yours truly, so called the Like-minded folks, managed to take time off our week end, to have a perfect afternoon:) We ensured that not eaten musch so that would get into the fitness trial session :) We were greeted by Ravi, who takes care of the FFC's functioning & were served with signature green tea. Austin Prakesh, Founder & CEO,was very kind in walking us through the history & rationale & we were asked to change to hit the floor, soon......
Mixed martial arts (MMA), is a full contact combat sport that allows the use of both striking and grappling techniques, both standing and on the ground, from a variety of other combat sports. The roots of modern mixed martial arts can be traced back to the ancient Olympics where one of the earliest documented systems of codified full range unarmed combat was in the sport of pankration. Various mixed style contests took place throughout Europe, Japan and the Pacific Rim during the early 1900s. The combat sport of vale tudo that had developed in Brazil from the 1920s was brought to the United States by the Gracie family in 1993 with the founding of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)~ Courtesy wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mixed_martial_arts)

The Trial warm up was led by Rajesh, one of the trainers at the institute....& made us run on our toes some 10 rounds!!! It then began with some stretches & we were asked to flex out ..... & take to sand bag session, followed by combat- reflexes... Since we had never exercised, over ages, most of us were embellished with
water on & off....
